Israel faced Finland in a game deciding which team stays in DI and which team gets relegated. Israel led throughout the game before losing nearly the entire lead in the 3rd, and opening the 4th with a 17-1 run on its way to an 83-60 win. Merav Dori with 20 points and Shiran Zairy with 12 assists led Israel.

Tomorrow Israel will play the Ukraine for the 13th place in the tournament.

Israel 83 - Finland 60

Israel started with Shiran Zairy, Chen Nusel, Shahar Alterman, Merav Dori & Katia Abramzon. Threes by Abramzon & Alterman and 4 points by Nusel helped Israel gain a 14-8 lead. Nusel picked up her 2nd foul and Noa Ganor came in for her. Ganor hit a three but Finland scored six quick points and cut the lead to 16-17. Liel Ochanon with 2 from the line and Alterman with a three off of Zairy's 4th assist with 5 seconds left in the quarter set the score at 22-16.

Israel went on a 9-0 run to start the 2nd quarter, which included 5 points from Dori and 4 from Ochanon. The lead was 31-16 with under 7 minutes left in the half. Huuka scored 9 straight for Finland and helped them cut the lead to just 33-40 at the half. Dori led Israel with 12 points, Abramzon had 7.

Finland scored the first four points of the 3rd andmade it a 3-point game, before Nusel answered with a 3-point play. Nusel then commited her 4th foul and Alterman came in with Israel up 43-39. The lead was down to 47-46 before Israel went on a 9-0 run to make it 56-46 with 2 minutes left in the quarter. Israel led 58-50 after 3, Dori had 16 points and Zairy had 10 assists, Alterman & Ochanon had 8 pts each.

Israel stormed to a 75-51 lead in the 4th before Finland got its first field goal of the quarter wit 3:40 left to play. The run started with a layup by Zairy, 4 points by Dori and two threes from Alterman. Israel then scored 6 from the line. The final score was 83-60, as Nusel who returned with her four fouls with about six minutes left, scored 8 in the quarter.
